Born in Utah, raised in Idaho I traveled around the world learning trades before dedicating myself to media. I joined the Army when I was 17 two months after September 11th. I was an Army helicopter mechanic for eight years. Four of those were spent overseas where I began experimenting with cameras. After I left the military a became a Army civilian working for the Corps of Engineers. I’d spend the next 8 years in South Dakota as a hydroelectric powerplant operator. After returning to Idaho, I retired early. Retiring early was mentally hard without having a purpose. I began selling firearms to pass the time away. Eventually that got boring, and I yearned for more. My 15-year mark from separating from the Army was coming. That meant that my GI Bill that I earned would expire. With the GI Bill the military will pay for a four-year degree for only about a $1,000 investment. I know what a gift a free education is, and I didn’t want to waste the opportunity I had for it. I found a media program for only 1 year at my community college. I have always struggled in education and was very uncomfortable to return to it. That year I did okay but reignited my passion for creating. After the program ended, I was lucky enough to find a program at LA Film. It is a full degree and encompasses many subjects I enjoy. Somehow, I have attained a 3.6 GPA. I enjoy the schedule LA Film does their classes and find it very enjoyable learning my future.
